To support consistency and performance across the City’s lighting infrastructure, the Bureau of Street Lighting maintains a list of approved equipment and manufacturers. The Bureau welcomes new technologies and products that meet the City’s lighting needs. Vendors and manufacturers interested in having their equipment considered for approval can review the criteria and submission requirements outlined in the following PDF resources. This includes evaluation standards, testing procedures, associated fees, and required documentation for consideration in the Bureau’s approved equipment list. Completed and signed submittal forms must be included as part of the evaluation request.

For contracted projects, the Bureau requires submission of the following M-40 form to BSLM40@lacity.org to verify that proposed lighting equipment is pre-approved prior to procurement. Refer to the project plans for additional requirements.
